1. Different nature
Oriented silicon steel: Oriented silicon steel, also known as cold-rolled transformer steel, is an important ferrosilicon alloy used in the transformer (iron core) manufacturing industry.
Unoriented silicon steel: Unoriented silicon steel is a ferrosilicon alloy with very low carbon content, and its grains are randomly oriented in the deformed and annealed steel plate.
2. Different characteristics
Oriented silicon steel: The magnetic properties of oriented silicon steel are strongly directional, with the lowest iron loss value in the rolling direction, the highest permeability and a high magnetic induction value under a certain magnetization field. The silicon content of oriented silicon steel is about 3%, and it is required that the oxide inclusion content in the steel is low, and it must contain some inhibitor (MnS, A1N).
Non-oriented silicon steel: non-oriented silicon steel containing silicon 0.8%-4.8% of ferrosilicon alloy, hot and cold rolled into a thickness of less than 1mm silicon steel sheet. The addition of silicon can increase the resistivity and maximum permeability of iron, and reduce coercivity, core loss (iron loss) and magnetic aging.
